How to Turn off auto-detect HDMI

How do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?

It seems to me that if this behaviour occurs with Anynet+ turned OFF (and it does) then surely THIS IS A FAULT.  Anynet+ ON/OFF has become redundant because it will switch anyway.

Samsung, please give me back control of my TV and accept this as a fault that needs rectifying

Same problem here with a sleeping Nintendo Switch in the dock.

It will randomly light up the HDMI and make my 2016 Samsung switch to that input for no reason.

Lost a fair few Street Fighter matches because of it 😞

Just wanted to give an update.  I have a UN70KU6300FXZA.  After reading on here that a powered HDMI switch would eliminate this problem, I figured I would give it a try.  Installed it this morning.  Problem still exists.  My kids uses this TV for their PS4, and about every 10 mins switches to the screen that says "no signal".

I have now resorted to removing the Nintendo switch from the dock when doing other things - TV or ATV or cable - only way that it doesn't switch to an unpowered source randomly. a pain in the proverbial..... Should not have to do this.......

I explained this in a post yesterday, but you can turn off the Switch entirely by holding down the power button on it until the options pop up, then select power options, and then turn off.  The HDMI issue will not happen if you do this.

This doesn't work for me. Turned it off (in the way you describe), stick it in the dock, and boom - TV changes to HDMI3.

As I explained yesterdy too, this does not work for me (and apparently for others).  The Switch can sometimes go for 30-60 minutes without switching sources.   And then it will change them 3-4 times a minute for who knows how long.  It doesn't matter if it's fully powered down or not 😞

The only "solution" is set it to be on for 6 hours and every 6 hours you wake it up out of sleep mode.  Or hide it behind a powered HDMI switch.

Gave Samsung £999 of my hard earned money 3 days ago for a Samsung KS7000. Absolutely loved it until I started noticing this problem...

As I always have my PC plugged in, ANYTIME I turn my PC on, the TV automattically switches the TV to the HDMI channel the PC is plugged into.

Girlfriend watching a film? Better not turn my PC on! Get up a bit later than my girlfriend, first thing I want to do is check my email on my PC? Better not do it if she's watching the TV!

It's laughable that Samsung is ignoring their customers. Fix this problem now, or I shall be returning my TV as having it switch channels each time it detects something is NOT fit for purpose!
