Projectors & Other TVsHow do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?
Thanks,
Mark

Projectors & Other TVsNow at 30,000 views on this topic. Surely we deserve more than a token "we'll pass on your suggestions" response.
When can we expect this necessary setting to appear in a software update?

Projectors & Other TVsA monitor/TV has one job to do, and it's too bad these issues really get in the way of enjoying my media.
Its unfortunate we aren't entitled to a refund, we really should be in this case, or at least a partial refund so I can go buy an LG. TVs are expensive and I can't just keep it and drop 3.5k on a new set.
Ultimatley in capitalism all we can do here is learn our lesson and switch to a competitor next time. Samsung doesn't seem to want to truly fix it, just switch over to LG or Sony or some other competitor. That action will show them better than any words will how you feel.
Sorry Samsung I really loved your TVs but I think you really screwed up here, and I shouldn't have to buy another TV from you in the future to get it fixed.
Here's hoping they do actually fix the issue eventually.
Good of luck everyone and try to stay calm and take it easy on the mods, and support agents. I suggest contacting Samsung's board of directors via email for the best possible chance at a fix.

Projectors & Other TVsI sent another tweet and tagged the only relevant person in leadership in Samsung USA. Go ahead and add fuel to the fire with others leaders around the world.

Projectors & Other TVsJust turned on my Samsung UN40KU6300 and it said the software has been updated to 1167.0 but I still don't see any options to change the auto HDMI switching. They're not listening at all or we're just to small of a minority of customers to care about.
I'm in the US if that matters at all.

Projectors & Other TVsJust updated as well. Called customer support and directed them to this forum. Informed me that turning off Auto-net or whatever it is would disable this feature. Hopefully between the update, auto-net and the powered hdmi switch, I will have a functioning TV. I will keep you posted with results....fingers crossed!

Projectors & Other TVsWhen we recieve a firmware upgrade, should the TV be unplugged AFTERWARDS to insure a clean reboot or is shutting the TV OFF and then back ON sufficient? Just asking?

Projectors & Other TVsMy UN65KS8500FXZA just updated to 1167 firmware and I can report that there is no change to functionality in regards to the HDMI source automatically switching or with the Nintendo Switch changing the port randomly while off or in sleep mode. I tried this with Anynet+ turned on an off. It's switched mulitple times in the last 15 minutes since I updated.
However, don't flip out that 1167 didn't solve this problem. Software updates are usually something that is cooked up over quite a bit of time. This issue only got massive exposure since March 3rd when the Switch hit (despite being an issue all along). 1167 has probably been being cooked up since before the last firmware update came out. It's possible the next firmware update might get pushed out with a fix.
So, in the time it took me to write that last paragraph (I never paused) my HDMI source switched 3 times. Please fix this Samsung and please fix it in a good way where I have the option to turn this "feature" off. Hell, last night I hit the download button on the Playstation Store site to download a game to my PS4 while it was in low power mode AND IT SWITCHED MY SOURCE. Seriously, please, fix this.
