Projectors & Other TVsHow do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?
Thanks,
Mark

Projectors & Other TVs
"Instead of 'forwarding suggestions' why not get someone from Samsung to explain why this feature is not working correctly? Unless automatically switching HDMI ports when it detects something is working correctly, in which case why not get someone to explain why Samsung think this feature is a good idea?"
We would all love that, but I've got to tell you Samsung's legal department would never sign off on it. They are advised to never admit to a defect, because it will expose them to huge numbers of claims. That's why these defective designs are publicly called "features". They even have to be careful about the way they apologize, because that can be construed as an admission there is a defect in design or material.

Projectors & Other TVsAdd another frustrated customer to the list. My Nintendo Switch is causing the same issues with causing the KS8000 to auto-change input.
For those with the Nintendo Switch, a slight fix is to not leave the Switch in the dock; with the Switch docked, the TV will change input as frequently as 5 minutes to an hour, un-docked it only seems to happen every hour to 2 hours.
Not to defend Samsung, but this clearly isn't a feature. If it were a feature it would happen with every input, this is definitely a bug. Of all the devices I've hooked up to the TV, probably 10 or so, the Nintendo Switch is the only one that has caused this issue, for me anyways.

Projectors & Other TVsI will just add my post to the LONG LIST of exactly the same issue with auto-switching of the HDMI input. I cannot believe this is not an option that can be disabled.
Last Samsung for me if this is not addressed!

Projectors & Other TVsI notice this thread has gone a bit quiet... are we all just accepting this?
I certainly am not, I was shopping with my friend for a new TV yesterday and he came across the Samsung KS9000 (worth £2,000). I explained this issue to him as I knew he wanted to have more than one HDMI plugged in and instead he went and bought a Sony TV.
This issue is losing you hard earned money Samsung. When will you listen to your customers?

Projectors & Other TVsI think in our heart of hearts we all know nothing will be done....
Last samsung for me, shall not be trusting their shoddy tv's again.
As I have said before, I am on my 3rd KS9000 due to faults, and my father is on his 2nd KS7500.
These 2016 TV's have been awful. And looking at the eye watering price of the QLED TV's coupled with this ridiculous HDMI issue we are all having, I can't see Samsung winning the battle against LG, Sony, Panasonic, etc.

I quite agree.
All I see is Samsung quetly and arrogantly ignoring their customers who don't appreciate their latest feature.
There are other minor issues which are nothing more than an Inconvenience (Favourites losing stations etc)but this one is enough to convince me that it's my last Samsung TV, and probably won't get a new Samsung phone when contract is up either.

Projectors & Other TVsSo, I bought an HDMI switch so I could use my Wii U and Nintendo Switch with my limited amount of HDMI ports and I also hoped it would fix the issue of auto switching but nope. So, I have to continue keeping the Nintendo Switch unhooked or out of the dock.
Anyone in the US have a HDMI Switch they can recommend as a workaround? Preferably on the US Amazon.com store.

Projectors & Other TVsFor those that are only having the issue with the Nintendo Switch, seems the problem isn't limited to Samsung TVs, i've been seeing reports of people with LG, Sony, Vizio, projectors, and PC monitors making the same complaints. from the same auto-switching issue, to large dialog messages that block the screen, stuff like that.
Maybe this issue is largely the fault of Nintendo... considering I can turn on my PS4 from an off state (or sleep) and it won't automatically change the input; or leave it running in the background while I watch something else.
