Mute symbol keeps flashing on screen

I have the TV on mute to use my sound bar, but the mute symbol keeps flashing in the screen

I thought that if you had the tv sounds output set to the sound bar, you shouldn't have to mute the tv? is the tv set to output to the sound bar?

I'm having same issue. 

Samsung help centre no help.

I figured it out.  Using tv remote push Home icon. Scroll left to settings icon and a Quick Settings menu should pop up above without clicking.  Go up and scroll to Audio Input and switch to proper input/ output.

unplug tv from the wall plug wait 10 seconds and plug in again fixed it for me !

This solution did not work for my Samsung TV. The volume sticks, it can no longer connect to the internet, and now the mute icon keeps flashing. I do have have a Bose Sundance attached via HDMI.
