Ok I got the S95C 77" in November 2023. I have read different forums about S95C PS5 issues, only one so far has talked about the issue, and someone posted a "fix",but it wasn't really a fix. I have both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 hooked up to the tv. I am having no issues with the Xbox 4k,hdr,vrr,allm is working like it should on the Xbox. The PS5 however if I try to use 4k,HDR,ALLM,and,VRR like your supposed to be able to.The picture doesn't show up it just says HDMI no signal. In order for the picture to show up it has to be at 1440p or lower resolution,HDR is on,but not at 2160p,and gamemode/allm,and vrr have to be turned off. The "fix" mentioned above is to have the HDMI signal plus turned off,yes the picture shows up with it off,but it's limited. In order for 4K HDR to display the HDMI signal has to be turned on,but with it turned on the picture doesn't show up. I called both Samsung and PlayStation technical support both were no help. Some people blame the one connect box, I don't fully buy that's the issue.Only because my previous tv was the KS8000 which had a one connect and had no issues. I want to be able to use 4K with HDR,allm, and vrr displaying on the S95C like I should be able to. Yes I am using a HDMI 2.1 48 gigabits fiber optic cable.

Good morning...We purchased the S95C 77" March 2024 and are having the exact same issue. We also purchased a HDMI 2.1 cable and tried it this morning. The issue persists with no change. For our system, the issue started after updating to the recent PS5 firmware update. Any feedback on this problem is appreciated.

I think part of the problem is how allm is handled on the PS5 vs the Series X. The Series X only enters game mode when you start a video game, whereas the PS5 is always in game mode unlesd you start up a DVD or Blu-ray.

I have the same issue. I have tried all ports on the oneconnect box with no success. Now i am turning off vrr just to test if the issue persist. But that would hardly be a fix. It is annoying as **bleep** for a 2k tv and 600-700 dollar console. Btw do you guys use an active hdmi cable supporting only one direction? Active cables are typically used when a longer distance between source and destination is required. Maybe this has something to do with it not being able to use vrr. Maybe vrr only works correctly on passive bi-directional hdmi 2.1 cables. I can run some tests with a passive cable and post back if i find something.

I fixed the issue it worked for me it might work for you. First use a fiber optic HDMI cable rated for 48 gbs just in case. Have the tv on and the source for the PS5 HDMI selected, turn on HDMI signal plus for the sourse, and auto game mode etc. Make sure the PS5 is turned off completely. Turn it on but hold the power button until the console beeps twice to enter safe mode. Once in safe mode, go down and select resolution, select 2160p,next change the frequency to -1. It should take you back to the PS5 home screen, and everything should be working like it should.

Awesome Tip!

i have to go to the video section in the PS5 also, doing the 1440 test again, and voilĆ”, VRR and ALLM went both automatically to "automatic"

What a mess with this TV. I bought my GQ65S95C in November 23. In April 24 some technicians swapped the external board to an new one, because my TV cant do 4k, HDR and 120Hz at same time... After the exchange, now my TV works well. I use the TV mostly as an PC Monitor because of the 4k, HDR and 144Hz capability! And now my PS5 also works, as it should^^

It was kinda weard, when using Windows 11, it showed 3840x2160 120Hz HDR and VRR on. But the PS5 says: Your TV does not support VRR and ALLM... LOL

This really cant be in 2024! But Samsung just released the new S95D modell, instead to fix all the bugs in our "beta" modell -.-

Not very user friendly!

Then, i have an subscription of Discovery+. But the TV App for this is only available in the USA...

Mega FAIL, Samsung, and dont come to me to say, that this is not in your hands, but in the hands of the external app developers...

Other TVs like Sony and LG do have this app pre-installed...

I can also remember the good old days, when Top Range TVs had 2 Remote Controls, SCART, HDMI, VGA Cables etc "outtabox" but nowadays not even a single HDMI Cable that fits, is in the box... No, we have to order many different HDMI Cables, just to see, which one fits! Because many so called "certified" Cables simply cant do 144Hz and HDR in 4k altogether...

And i wish me an "backlit" plenty-buttons Remote Control for this highpriced TV Class, not only an voice-recorded one with few buttons (that even were branded, which we sadly cant re-assign), because i DONT use this, and i never will do it  in future...

I am a Samsung Fan-Boy now since 2010, Smartfones, Plasma 3D TVs, Side-by-Side Refridgerators, Tablets, 360Ā° Cams etc, but my next SmartTV will surely NOT be a Samsung anymore -.-

If they didn't fixed my above problem, I would have gotten an LG Smart TV sooner because I would have returned the *****

The issue seems to be related to vrr. Did quite a bit of testing. With vrr on i can get the black screens start glitching within few minutes. But if i turn vrr off i just donā€™t get them. I am using a gold plated optic cable that supports 48mbps. I Tested it with multiple games running at 4k 120 fps. You can check your game mode settings by holding the play button on your small remote for a few seconds btw.

if you lower settings to -1 as suggested you obviously will fix the issue as you drop 4k120 fps all At once. The issue is related to bandwidth issues with the one connect box its hdmi ports. It is a well-known and widespread issue.

you can gamble with samsung and try to have them fix the oneconnect box for you, but they might also make it worse. You could also try to get a refund as samsung clearly made several mistakes here

Ok i had it happen once now with vrr off. Turning vrr off seriously reduced the issue when playing uncharted 4. But i refuse to set 4k throughput to -1 because then you will just play in full hd at 60 fps. So i will just request they chance my oneconnect box. Sad story.

as u can see, VRR is on, currently @84Hz, when racing, it mostly reaches the 120Hz

with  frequency set to -1 !

exchange your ext. Board!
