I have a new Samsung S95D OLED TV connected via an HDMI 2.1 cable to a Samsung Q900A soundbar.  Both connections are using the HDMI eARC port.  Anynet+ is enabled.  This setup works as expected.

I'm trying to disable the TV's Anynet feature to troubleshoot a problem.  When I disable Anynet it switches the TV audio setting to the TV speakers and I cannot switch back to the HDMI eARC soundbar option.  Both device's firmware is up to date.

Why is Anynet required when using an eARC connection to an audio device?

Is there a way to leave Anynet disabled but use an HDMI eARC audo connection?

Thanks.

Looks like the only way to feed audio to my soundbar with Anynet disabled is by using an optical cable (not considering wireless options).  Pretty disappointed with Samsung technology right now.
