My 55" Frame 2022 also started doing this behavior around the start of July this year. Around the same time the art menu / subscription interface changed, so I agree this looks like a software update problem from Samsung.
I've localized the problem to the "Sleep After" setting. If I turn this off, the behavior stops. But then you lose the motion detection function and you basically just have a regular TV. If I set "Sleep After" to 5 minutes, it switches from Art Mode to Samsung TV Plus in 5 minutes.
Settings menu also identifies TV On reason as "Sensor".
I've unplugged HDMI cables, deleted Smart Things, done multiple reboots / factory settings resets. had Samsung tech support change settings in the remote management menus. None of these steps have stopped the problem.
Samsung, fix your TV software! You've stepped on your main distinguishing function.
So turn off sleep stops it? Just let it stay on all day and night keeps it from happening? I can then just power it down at night then? It's a stupid workaround but if it works I'll try it.
I noticed this started happening around July 2023. This is completely unacceptable for a $2k tv. Samsung, if you don't provide a solution ASAP, I can assure you, you will lose your customers and the only one losing here in the long run will be you. You have been warned.
My solution. I turned the thing off. It's been months now since the 15xx update and not one acknowledgment from Samsung. Leads me to think they are not going to fix this. I have a nice big blank screen on the wall. I'll turn it on manually and no slideshow when I want to see it and soon as it exits art mode on its own I just turn the thing off again till I feel like using it again which is getting less and less at this point.
I’ve been installing a couple of these for the last two days. Worst technology purchase I ever made. Smart Things on iPad reminds me of software issues in 1995. Absolute horrible software and now the Frame switches from my art photos to playing Samsungs horrible TV channels.
I have five regular Samsungs and I love the TVs but the Frame sucks.
My solution (Apple TV user) is : reset The Frame. Start the TV without setting up the Wifi : no more Samsung TV app. I just have to go to art mode with The Frame remote, custom artworks uploaded with my USB Key. No more problems.
My solution works the best. I turned off the Frame TV. OFF. When I use it, I turn it on and go to frame and no slide show, no sleep, no nothing and hopefully it stays in art mode. When it kicks itself out, I turn the whole thing off and leave it off till I feel like trying again. Otherwise its mostly turned off! IF Samsun NEVER FIXES THIS, Maybe it will die and I can replace it.
Found this yesterday while troubleshooting this same issue on my TV. Below I have what seems to be an effective solution, and also my conspiracy theory on why this is happening.
THEORY
I have no evidence that this is actually what is happening, this is just be putting on my tin foil hat. I really hope it's not the case, but it kind of makes sense. There is an argument to be made that it would behoove Samsung to do this in order to have more TVs playing SamsungTV Plus at any one time, therefor having more ads running at any one time. More ads === more money. Again, I don't have any evidence this is just the conspiracy theorist in me.
SOLUTION
I was able to fix this by simply disabling SamsungTV Plus.
To disable SamsungTV Plus: Press Home on your TV remote, highlight the Samsung TV Plus app, press the down directional button on your TV remote, and then select Remove > Disable.
If Samsung TV Plus is not on your home screen:Press Home on your TV remote, navigate to Source, select Samsung TV Plus, press Up, and then select Add to Home.
This will basically remove Samsung TV Plus from your tv altogether. You can always reenable it if you need. Since doing this last night, I haven't had the issue again. Hope this works for others as well.
