I have a new Q80C TV,

Model: QN55Q80CAFXZA

SN: 0FEK3CYX101368E

I have looked in all settings and cannot find where to turn on off pop up notifications. When I browse the TV guide, I keep getting this annoying small options pop up when viewing the guide channels. Where is the option to turn off notifications? It is not in settings>System Manager or anywhere else I have looked.

@CoreyF  This is what Google says since I don’t have a Q80C I can’t confirm.

To disable notifications on a Samsung Q80C, you'll need to access your TV's settings and navigate to the notifications area. From there, you can choose to turn off notifications for specific apps or all apps altogether. You may also need to disable HDMI-CEC features if you want to stop your TV from automatically turning on when connected to other devices.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of how to disable notifications:

1. Accessing the Settings:
  • Press the Menu button on your TV remote.
  • Navigate to the Settings menu.
  • Look for options related to Notifications or Apps.

2. Disabling Notifications for Specific Apps:
  • Within the settings, find the Notification section.
  • You may see a list of apps that are sending you notifications.
  • Select the app you want to modify and disable its notifications.

3. Disabling All Notifications:
  • In the Notifications section, there may be an option to Turn off all notifications or Hide notifications.
  • You can also find an option to turn on Do not disturb mode, which will silence notifications.

4. Disabling HDMI-CEC:
  • If you want to prevent your TV from automatically turning on when connected to other devices, you'll need to disable HDMI-CEC.
  • Navigate to Settings > System > HDMI-CEC.
  • Select Device Auto Power, Device Power, and TV Auto Power to Off.

Important Notes:
  • Some notifications are system-level and cannot be completely disabled (e.g., critical alerts about your TV's status).

  • If you're having trouble finding the settings, consult your TV's manual or search for specific instructions online.
