Permanent fix for eARC Soundbars:

Goto All Settings \ Sound \ Expert Settings

Switch eARC to Auto

I've been using it like that for days and days - no drops!

=================================================================

Temporary fix for non-eARC Soundbars:

Goto

All Settings

Sound

Expert Settings

DiGital Output Format

Select PCM

Works for me. Couple of hours without a single drop.

Id suggest we each take this with your local Samsung distributor. The more pressure we put on them the better.

Original Story:

I have a per of QN90c 75" TV and a Q990B soundbar.
After the TV was updated I immediately noticed sound drops with my soundbar. The drops would come at random intervals. Resetting the TV does not help. Neither does changing sound modes. Output via TV Speakers seems to be working fine drops-free.
Searching online i found a few more similar cases with different Samsung TV models and Samsung soundbars affected by the same firmware.

Here's one:

issu with sound after last update - Version 1402.5 - S95C : r/S95C (reddit.com)

Same issue here,

None of the recommended actions fixed it.

Any source from TV is having sound issues, only devices connected directly to the soundbar works as expected.

It is a complete disaster

S95c + Q990c soundbar

Yes, Indeed another Big problem moving to 1402.5 firmware which Samsung blames the end-user.  It really appears Samsung validates firmwares with Chimpanzees and Apes.  This is a consistent problem with Samsungs firmware updates. Last year we lost ATMOS now we get disconnects which are annoying.  Samsung, do you actually have testers in the public that have reasonable experience with your products? I really don't like the Font change, nor the very dark blue background. It's very stark against the letters.  Could you settle on a slightly classier Font and lighten the dark menu? This change wasn't even mentioned in the change log.  Your options in the Picture and Sound are minimal at best.  How about giving options Simular to LG or like your older generation of TVs.  We used to be able to adjust MPEG compressions and could change Souround sound settings to enhance the sound.  Look back to your 2014 TVs. Really enjoy Samsung panels and QLEDS but wish there was an extra review before releasing firmware changes.

I just did a text Support Interaction on this yesterday as well (the font change). I also hate the menu font change, we should have option to change menu UI font to classic or other options. It is a small change but having said that, it is frustrating we do not have the option to change the ui font back!

I have the same issue with TV QN800C + Soundbar HW-S800B. After updating to 1402.5 I have random sound drops (every 30 mins or so). I've tried all possible connection types with the soundbar (WiFi, HDMI) and in different modes.
