QLED and The Frame TVsPermanent fix for eARC Soundbars:
Goto All Settings \ Sound \ Expert Settings
Switch eARC to Auto
I've been using it like that for days and days - no drops!
=================================================================
Temporary fix for non-eARC Soundbars:
Goto
All Settings
Sound
Expert Settings
DiGital Output Format
Select PCM
Works for me. Couple of hours without a single drop.
Id suggest we each take this with your local Samsung distributor. The more pressure we put on them the better.
==============
Original Story:
I have a per of QN90c 75" TV and a Q990B soundbar.
After the TV was updated I immediately noticed sound drops with my soundbar. The drops would come at random intervals. Resetting the TV does not help. Neither does changing sound modes. Output via TV Speakers seems to be working fine drops-free.
Searching online i found a few more similar cases with different Samsung TV models and Samsung soundbars affected by the same firmware.
Here's one:
issu with sound after last update - Version 1402.5 - S95C : r/S95C (reddit.com)

before the 1402 update, i got static noise and some glitching while using eARC on non atmos content. (worked fine on atmos movies) tho the bass is dramatically lower using eARC vs ARC
After the 1402 update the static is gone, but the gliching is bad, on every setting. switching eARC to auto and off again seem to work for 30-60min or so betwen the gliches

QLED and The Frame TVs1. TV Model you have: QN90CA 55
2. Home Theater System / Soundbar model: Samsung HW-Q700c
3. External devices Connected: none
4. Current Software version for TV: 1402.5
5. How is the HTS or Soundbar connected: eARC, HDMI cable supplied with the soundbar
6. How often does this occur: randomly, every 3-5 mins
7. Is there a specific device you're using when it occurs: internal apps - ATV+, Netflix, Prime, every App
All sound modes, Q-symphony on/off - it doesn't matter, the sound drops out for up to a second at a time
This didn’t happen until the recent software update. Spent thousands of pounds on a TV and soundbar that now is cutting out. How can Samsung release a firmware upgrade and not test this????

QLED and The Frame TVs1. TV Model: S90C 55"
2. Home Theater System/Soundbar model: Samsung HW-Q70T
3. External devices Connected: PC (sound problems also with some games)
4. Current Software version for TV: 1402
5. How is the HTS or Soundbar connected: eARC, HDMI cable supplied with the soundbar
6. How often does this occur: At random, 10-20 minutes apart
7. Is there a specific device you're using when it occurs: It happens with all sources.
I'm not from the US but i'm sharing my case here because in my own country Samsung's customer service is even worse and they have not acknowledge the issue. It is very frustrating to buy such an expensive TV and not being able to fully enjoy it due to poor sound quality.
Please share a real fix soon, or at least give us a timeframe of when it will be resolved.

QLED and The Frame TVsYou’d think that Samsung would at least acknowledge the issue with all the comments on here and Reddit and the fact the update has been pulled.
