yesterday in
QLED and The Frame TVsWas watching our QN75Q60RAFXZA Flat 75" QLED 4K Q60 Series when there was a sizzling noise followed immediately by a loud pop and the screen blinking off. Saw something burning fall out of the back of the TV near (near the power cord), and smelled a strong "electronic" burning smell (son said is smelled like a fried capacitor). Immediately unplugged the TV and put out a small fire (a foam cable-wrap was burning). The cord was not hot (that is not shorted) when we unplugged it. And you could really smell the burning from behind the TV.
Shined a flashlight up the bottom grills to see if there was something obvious, but while we could see a circuit board directly above where the sparks fell out of the back of the TV, there wasn't anything visibly burnt from our limited view.
Bought the TV back in DEC of 2020 to replace ANOTHER Samsung TV that broke (thank goodness that one was still under warranty), so it's not all that old. Messaged Samsung repair but this TV is obviously out of warranty (even the 3-year Asurion warrenty from Amazon). Now I'm seeing from this message board that this isn't an isolated thing.
Thinking this will be the last Samsung TV we ever buy.
