Samsung Apps and ServicesUnwanted callers are a huge problem and Samsung's Phone App makes blocking numbers more difficult than it sboulx/could.
Why does the Phone App STILL make it so difficult to block a phone number from the "Recents" screen? In particular, WHY does it require SO MANY steps to accomplish Blocking a number?
Essentially, "Blocking a phone number" remains a "hidden feature" in Samsung's Phone App. I don't need to block a call every day, but nothing visible at the "Recents" screen even suggests how to do it. So I usually don't remember "how" and end up having to Google the topic to be reminded.
This time, after being reminded of "how to do it" and returning to the "Recents" screen, I counted at least EIGHT STEPS to get a number blocked & get all the way back to the "Recents" screen. Having to do all that to block a single caller seems totally unnecessary & such a waste of time imposed by the App on the User!
Particularly in today's "malicious caller" environment, once at the "Recents" screen, how to block a number should be no less obvious - and should not require any more steps to "get to" - than the existing "two click process" the Phone App already provides for getting to "Add to Contacts" or "Add tag".
Is there any legitimate reason for keeping the number blocking process both so obscure and so complicated to accomplish?

Samsung Apps and ServicesIt doesn't take that many steps. You tap the number and then it comes up with "block this number". Calls that are not tagged as potential spam you have to tap the number, then tap the info circle on the right and then choose block number at the bottom of the screen.

Samsung Apps and ServicesI've just switched back to Google phone app for my default phone because the Samsung phone app makes it so difficult and confusing to both block spammers and to examine and make sense of call history. It wouldn't matter so much if they weren't able to keep leaving messages even once they are blocked. So many fraudulent robo calls and live ones.
PS From their suggestions I wonder if people are on different versions of the app than I am. My phone is S20 FE model (purchased in 2022 and fully updated)

Samsung Apps and ServicesBlocking calls from with the phone app on *any* phone, will only prevent them from ringing through. They will still be routed to your voicemail, so any scammers/robocallers inclined to leave a message, will. It's best they go to voicemail, just in case a legitimate call is mistakenly labeled as spam.
I don't see why you find it hard to navigate the call log in the Samsung dialer, it's pretty straightforward. It lists the numbers, whether it was an incoming or outgoing call and the date and time. What's so hard about understanding that?
You are, of course, free to use any phone dialer app you want, but blocked calls will still be directed to your voicemail. Neither Samsung, Google or your carrier have any control over who calls you. You have control over whether the call rings through to disturb you. I delete all voicemails from numbers that were marked as potential spam or scam likely without even listening to the intro. Calls that have no caller ID but are otherwise not marked as spam, I take a 1 second listen to and delete if it's not legit, and then go back to the call list to report it as spam.
