Apple iphone 17 is being rumored to get rid of the usb c port too. Falling truly into strange times here, aren't we??? And given Samsung's bad track record of first mocking apple and then quietly copying them regardless (like audio port removal), Samsung should not repeat history!

I'd love a port less phone less chance of water damage and bigger battery

We have USB C ports now, and water damage is not an issue. In fact, this hasn't been an issue in years. Losing the C Port would be limiting in a lot of ways. Data back up for one, being able to use Dex on any hotel or office monitor or TV that doesn't allow wireless connections. Those are just a few things that come to mind. The thing that sets Galaxy apart from the others is when I need it, I got it. They keep chipping away at that, and they're just another iPhone wannabe. And spoiler alert, the apple fans in my world are always more impressed with the device in my hand.

My condolences to them. I recommend buying a port protector if that's an issue. Also, that's something that Samsung needs to address in QA. But taking away a much needed feature from an entire line for an issue that has a fix is not the answer. But again, I've never had an issue. I literally come home and wash my phone with soap, water, and rubbing alcohol. I've been doing so since the Note 8 and never had an issue. After washing, I shake it, towel it off, and wait a bit before plugging it into anything.

Correction, I do recall getting that message once before, which is what led me to wait a bit before plugging it into anything. That said, although I stand by my comment, I do see your point.

I'd also like the type-C port to stay.
