Verizon no longer supports RCS in Samsung Messages

I got this message 

Verizon Msg: Samsung Messages will no longer support RCS after 1.6.2025. Switch to Google Messages to maintain the more robust messaging you're used to."  and was wondering what it means?

Google Messages sucks. Simple as that.

We're losing A LOT of customization by this change:
- Conversation backgrounds
- Conversation categories
- Complete app appearance without Material You (Using GoodLock Labs)
- Prioritizing contacts despite Do Not Disturb
- Filtering out spam, marketing, politics, etc.
- And more...
Google Messages ain't worth it. Glad this change isn't effecting T-Mobile right now....

Which I suppose ain't surprising... Given GoodLock now hold some of the features that were main stream

Why does Samsung hate its users?  That is the only reason I can see for them to force us to the king of spyware.
