I need help I need to export saved credentials in Samsung pass and it only exports it as a .spass and I need it to be .csv so I can import to another encrypted manager.

I just ran into the same thing.  Looking at the file header, it doesn't seem to be a standard encrypted ZIP or anything.  Hoping to reverse engineer the encryption so I can export.  This is a MASSIVE reason to not use Samsung Pass -- it is not able to export all the collected passwords to any other password management system, only another Samsung Pass/Wallet.

I'll post back if I find anything out.

I'm now use Samsung wallet and another. I've converted my word doc into an Excel file for easy updating and importing. I update and store new info in there first as a fail safe. Keep me posted would love and easy export option for Samsung wallet.

No, I honestly was hoping someone from Samsung actually looks at these and offers advice. I still will use Samsung wallet heavily but I needed one that one cross platforms and Samsung pass\wallet does not.

Dear Samsung Customer Support,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Toby Rushing (Small) aka TAObaeus Tenacious, and I have been a loyal Samsung customer for 16 years, currently using Samsung Pass for managing my password data. I am writing regarding a critical issue I encountered while attempting to export my personal data from Samsung Pass for transfer to another password management service.

On August 16 2024, I contacted Samsung Customer Support and discussed the difficulties in converting Samsung Pass data to a standard format used in comparable upps , namely as CSV or XML. Despite thorough discussions, it became clear that Samsung does not provide any tools or options to facilitate this process. I requested that the issue be escalated to management, but they refused to do so. Instead I was advised to share my situation here in Samsung Members app. So, here I am doing that. I hope you'll consider the following:

### Impact on Customer Trust and Experience:

The inability to export my data in a usable format poses a significant inconvenience, requiring potentially hundreds of hours to manually transfer hundreds of entries, including passwords, account information, and payment methods. This process is not only time-consuming but also prone to human error, further complicating my data transition.

### Potential Violation of Consumer Protection Laws:

I believe that Samsung's practices potentially violate data portability rights and consumer protection laws. The restrictions on data export were not communicated when I began using Samsung Pass, and it was only after years of dedicated use that I discovered these limitations.

### Willingness to Find a Mutually Beneficial Solution:

I am open to discussing alternative solutions that can address this issue while maintaining our positive relationship. Whether it is through a specialized support service or a custom data export tool, I am eager to find a resolution that upholds consumer rights and fosters goodwill.

### Attempted Resolution Through Standard Channels:

I have made sincere efforts to resolve this issue through standard support channels, but I found the solutions provided insufficient. Therefore, I am requesting that Samsung consider reviewing my case outside of the standard arbitration process outlined in the original user agreement.

Please find enclosed relevant documentation, including a transcript of my communication with Samsung Customer Support (Exhibit A). Given the significance of this issue to my data portability rights, I trust that Samsung will consider this request with due urgency and empathy.

I look forward to your prompt and favorable response.

This is a user-to-user help forum.  I'm sorry Samsung customer service was unhelpful to you, but we can do nothing about that here, so all that verbiage was unnecessary. 

You can export your Samsung pass data.  Go into Samsung wallet on your phone and go into the settings by clicking the "all tab" and then clicking the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner. In the settings there is a line to import and export Samsung pass data.  Clicking on that will give you the option to either import data or export data to phone.  If you choose export data to phone, you will need to create a password for the file and follow the prompts to export to your phone.  I did not go as far as creating the file, but it may or may not give you the choice of file format and file name, but if it does not, it is standard to use .csv to create the file.  Please remember the password you set, or write it down somewhere, as you will need it to access the file to import it to whatever other password manager you are going to use.

Interesting that samsung support directed me here after i submitted that letter to them. I instructed that if they could not facilitate a resolution, to please escalate the situation to a manager or the managers manager. Instead of doingng that, they directed me here.

You are 1000% more helpful than the support staff, so thank you for the effort that took. If youd gone as far as to create the file, youd find that it is given to you only in the ".Spass" format, and you aren't given any choice in the matter. Furthermore, no software exists which can display a file in that format- not even Samsung software..it's absolutely useless to any program other than Samsung wallet.

So imagine that you've been a user for 16 years, and have used this to store your credentials the whole time. You slowly become more and more dissatisfied with the direction the company is going, and decide to try a competitor.

I'm here to tell you about the hurdle you will face- Samsung will hold your entire online presence hostage. You accounts, your payment methods, tour secure folders, everything is encrypted in such a way as to render it absolutely useless to you unless you keep buying and using their devices.

Google just got slammed for anticompetitive practices, which I am inthe process of attempting to verify. Meanwhile, I have just encountered on very real and present example of such practices right here.

If I were to fall prey to some nefarious hacker's ransomeware, I'd be offered a chance to cough up some money in order to regain access to the data which they were hoping hostage. I cannot say the same thing for Samsung, however. They have mirrored the tactic in a very conniving way, but they do not offer any recourse if you want your data back- you're SOL if you want out.
