High capacity washer doesn't have high capacity suspension rods!

We have had our Samsung top loading washer for less than four years and the suspension rods are shot. I cannot replace them myself because of all the electronics that connect the top part of the washer to the base, and the repair guy wants $450 to fix them, which means I might as well just buy another washer as this will probably happen again. Are you guys replacing these? It's such a disappointment.
