Projectors & Other TVsHello,
I purchased a UN65J8500 3 years ago and just recently, within the last 2 months, I started noticing what looks to be light spots shinning through the panel. These light spots are especially noticeable on solid colors.
I've posted a couple of images of what it looks like:
Is this something that I can fix or is this panel not worth saving?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
cheers,
devin

Projectors & Other TVsHello, if you are experiencing the symptoms above, please confirm the following:
- Is the unit pulled into a surge protector?
- Try plugging the unit directly into a wall outlet.
- Is your device up to date?
- Make sure that the unit is up to date with the latest software: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062224/
- Does this happen on all sources?
- Try different source to see if the symptoms appear, if they do not it will be an issue with your HDMI connection, or the external device.
- Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test, If the test says the cable is bad, replace the cable.
- Try a different External device and/or cable
- Have you performed a picture test?
- If you are able to, Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test, and then follow the on-screen directions.
If the TV can display a picture, and there’s no further symptoms, you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working, and troubleshoot with the manufacturer or replace the device/cable.
If the troubleshooting above did not help, or alleviate the symptoms, the unit will require service. Please see the service options listed below:

Projectors & Other TVsI am having this issue also. Not just the bleeding but dark spots on the edge and overheating in the same edge area. I've researched and read all about the bleeding, dark spots and overheating melting the frames including the class action suit that should take care all of this. How do I go about getting the process going so you folks can repair this.

Projectors & Other TVsIm having this exact same issue. Just started about a month ago. The main thing im concerned about is how hot the back of my tv is getting. Its not blistering hot but a little uncomfotable to the touch. From the reviews ive read it sounds like this is a known issue that samsung wont admit to and gets resolved about 50% of the time. Paying $2000 for a tv 3 years ago id expect it to last a little longer. Anyone had any luck?

Projectors & Other TVsNothing....it's physical damage from the heat. Avoid Samsung. They will not rectify unless under their itty itty warranty.

Projectors & Other TVsI am also having the light bleed issue on a un65js8500. It started a few months ago and seems to be hot on the edges where the bleeding is occurring. Any solutions to help resolve this?
