I tried to purchase a replacement phone, a54 from Amazon (they have gone down hill fast). I ordered a US unlocked sm-a546u. They sent me the an sm-a546w which is Canada version. SAMSUNG says the bands will auto change to my carrier. However, the specs say not all bands are enabled for non US phones. Does anyone know if bands are disabled and will not work?

The w denotes Canada is why you got Canadian. The u1 is unlocked and just u carrier version.

I don't understand your response. I know the w is Canada variant. My question is if this version supports all US Tmobile bands.

It supports the same USA Tmobile bands as the one you ordered.
The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G (model SM-A546W) supports a wide range of T-Mobile USA bands, including:

5G Bands: n41 (2.5 GHz), n258 (24 GHz), n260 (39 GHz), n261 (28 GHz), and n71 (600 MHz)4G LTE Bands: 2 (1900 MHz), 4 (1700/2100 MHz), 5 (850 MHz), 12 (700 MHz), 66 (extension of band 4 on 1700/2100 MHz), and 71 (600 MHz)2G Bands: 2 (1900 MHz)

Here are the bands the one you originally ordered supports and are the same
The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G (model SM-A546U) also supports a wide range of T-Mobile USA bands, including:

Actually, the bands supported by the phone don't change based on which SIM is inserted. Either the phone supports all the frequency bands broadcast by the towers used by your carrier, or it doesn't. The supported bands are fixed by the SOC's modem.

The good news, it seems from what I looked up, is that your device does support all of the bands that T-Mobile uses, which are 2, 4, 5, 12, 66, and 71. As I understand it, 66 and 71 are the ones used the most because of their extended range.

You should be good to go.

Can you set your phone location to the U.S.?  That is important. I, of course, would want what I ordered which, is the U.S. version.  Unless you read the description wrong.  When I ordered my A54 from Amazon, I had to be careful because on the same product page they had the S. American Version and the U.S. version. I ordered and received the U.S. version, but if they had sent me the other one, I would have gone right online and sent it back.
