Battery charging notifications shuts off Google Maps when connected to android auto?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A02s cell. I have both android auto  & google maps installed on my cell. I connect my cell to my car screen using the cars USB plug. My car is android auto compatible. I then choose the android auto option that is given on my car screen which then mirrors my cell screen with the google maps to the car screen. Once connected, the google map shows on the car screen. The problem I am running into is that my cell constantly (every 10 seconds or so) shows the battery charging notification with the amount of cell battery charge. Every time the notification comes to my cell, it shuts off the google maps on the car screen. Once the cell notification completes, the google map will again load on the car screen only to be shut off once again when my cell shows the battery notification. This notification is non stop which makes using the google map useless because the google map keeps shutting down only to reload again for a short few seconds until another battery notification comes. My cell battery is usually in the 95% or higher charged range so it not because of a low battery issue/warning. Is there a way to turn off the battery charging notification on my Galaxy A02s? Thanks

This is happening because your connection between the USB port and the phone cable is not stable. You are disconnecting and reconnecting. Each time you reconnect, the charging notification appears. Each time you disconnect, the map cuts off from the car. Check both ends of your csble to make sure the connection is snug. You may need to swap out your USB cable as the newer phones need a higher wattage cable.

Thanks for your time & reply realaud. When I plug the same USB cable into my laptop USB port I get the charging notification immediately but only once & again if I plug the same USB cable into a wall plug adapter & then plug the adapter into a wall socket I immediately get the notification but only once so at least in those 2 scenario's the cable seems to be OK.  I have plugged & unplugged both ends of the cable multiple times while in the car to make sure both ends are pushed all the way in but no luck. What you are explaining makes sense though so maybe there is an issue with the car socket?

Car USB ports are notoriously flaky. I had a perfectly working USB cord for my car and it kept doing the same thing. I changed the cord and have had no problem since (when I bother to connect it). These days, I just run maps off the phone and don't bother with AA.

If I were to buy a replacement cord is there anything specific I should be looking for such as voltage etc.? You mentioned wattage? Thanks

Most car ports are not very high wattage, but the phone ports are, however cables are normally backward compatible, so if your actual goal is connectiviy, not charging, 25 watts or more should do. Many cables do not actually list that spec, but anything designated high speed would have at least that. If you have other cables lying aroun, I'd try those before buying a new one. Sometimes cars just don't like a particular cable. You could also have a micro tear near the connector ends from pulling it out of the port.
