Error opening gmail on my samsung J2 pure

Every time I want to read my gmail I keep getting an error message and prompts me to enter my password to continue with Samsung mail and that's not what I want

Open your phone's Settings app.
Tap Passwords & accounts. If you don't see "Accounts," tap Users & accounts.
Under "Accounts for," tap the account you want to remove  Remove account.
To confirm, tap Remove account  OK.If this is the only Google Account on the phone, you'll need to enter your phone's pattern, PIN, or password for security.
