A Series & Other Mobile
Hello, There! I can definitely understand your concerns with the vibration not working on your A32. There are various reasons why this could be behaving in this manner, such as settings or potentially even a third-party application.
First Let’s check your Settings:
- One of the main reasons, could be that the vibration option is not enabled on the device. You can disable or enable vibration separately for various functions such as touch interactions, keypad, keyboard, etc. You must manually check that the vibration settings for the required functions are enabled. For that, go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > System sound/Vibration control. Enable the required toggles.
a. If your phone doesn’t vibrate when you receive a new call, you must ensure the ‘Vibrate while ringing’ setting is enabled. It’s possible you have disabled the vibration by mistake and forgot to enable it. To do so, go to Settings > Sounds and vibration. Enable the toggle for Vibrate while ringing. If it’s already on, disable it and enable it again.
b. If it’s a specific app, that you’re needing the vibration for, for instance, Facebook messenger or another third-party app. There are two ways to check it.
Firstly, you can open the app settings directly from the app and enable vibration under Notification settings. Alternatively, go to phone Settings > Apps. Tap on the problematic app. Then tap on Notifications.
You will find various notification categories. Tap on the suitable one. In the case of messaging apps, tap on Incoming messages. Make sure to tap on the text and not the toggle. Turn on the toggle next to Vibrate. If it’s on, disable it and enable it again.
Pro Tip: We have seen where a few users suggest that completely disabling the Messages app’s vibration fixes it for other apps.
- It could be the type of Vibration pattern or the intensity that could need to be updated on the device. This can be done in the sounds and vibrations settings as well. (Settings>Sounds and vibrations)
3.It could be a recently installed Theme. If you’ve recently downloaded a new theme, sometimes these themes will change certain sound and vibration settings. You should check and uninstall any recently installed theme to fix the vibration issue. Restart your phone after uninstalling the theme.
If all your settings are good, I would then recommend going through the steps below.
Basic Troubleshooting:
- Restart your device by powering down the phone completely waiting thirty seconds and powering back on. If it’s a temporary glitch, this will resolve it.
- Software Updates, would be the next thing to check. Make sure that your phone has the latest updates. You can do this by simply going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
- A third-party app, could also be the cause. Try putting your phone into safe mode. Third-party apps do not work in Safe mode and so if a third-party app is acting rogue, you can uninstall them one by one to figure it out.
Note: Putting your phone in Safe mode will not delete your data.
How to: To enable Safe mode, turn off your phone. When it is switched off completely, press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons to turn on the device. When the Samsung logo appears on the screen, leave the Power button but keep holding the Volume down button until you see the home screen. The Safe mode text will appear at the bottom indicating that Safe mode is enabled. To go out of safe mode simply restart your device.
- Factory Data reset, this would be the final step we could perform to try and resolve the matter. This is taking everything back to the factory settings, like when the phone was first received.
a. Please note: Factory resetting your device will cause you to lose any data that are saved on the phone. We recommend a complete backup prior to factory resetting your device

If none of the steps above assists or resolves the vibration issues, it is recommended at that point to seek an evaluation from a certified technician, as there could be a hardware-related situation that may need to be addressed.
Note: If you are with a straight talk, please reach out to your carrier directly.
To have the service set up you can reach out to one of our moderators directly by selecting our name and clicking the message option. This would require you to ship your device in repairs.
Alternatively, you can also reach out to a local walk-in repair center to evaluate the device. You can use the following link here to find a repair center in your area. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location
