I went from AT-T to Verizon and also upgraded my phone, turned off RCS on the old device and I can't get it past setting up. I've had Google messages on the last couple previous phones in with the same phone number with minor problems that always resolved its own issues. That's not happening this time.

What can I do to get it work, I've tried everything online so far. I'll also add I can disable RCS via phone number because for some reason I can't receive the code and it was already switched off on the old device anyways, also on Google it's stuck on the auto verification is pending when that's never happened before. Verified my actual phone number but that's stuck and so is RCS

I'm a little confused. Maybe you can clarify the issue for me, please.

So, I'm a former AT&T customer of thirty years. I recently switch to Mint Mobile to cut back on cost as I mostly use my phone at home over wi-fi.

AT&T does have RCS text messaging and is normally available on the Samsung Messages app via their network; however, it appears that they will be no longer or have recently stopped supporting RCS on their network.

Google Messages is primarily RCS regardless of your network or carrier as it utilizes the internet and not your carrier's network to perform it's functions. That said, should Google Messages be unable to send or receive your messages, it will attempt to send them as a SMS/MMS message via our carrier's network, if you allow this in the Google Messages settings.

It sounds like you need assistance with signing into your Google account on Google Messages. Is this the issue?

I'm not on at&t anymore I am on Verizon now. I switched from at&t to Verizon. I had Google messages on my old device through at&t, I switched it off and now for some reason I can't get it past setting up on the new carrier and phone.

No my Google account is already on the phone...Google messages won't verify my phone number even though it's verified on my actual Google account. On my actual Google account the auto verification setting is stuck on pending even though it says my actual phone number was verified.

That you had RCS in Google Messages while with AT&T, to the best of my knowledge, is not at issue here, as Google Messages does not use your carrier's network to send RCS messages, but utilizes the internet instead. So, the app would still send RCS messages even though you turned it off with AT&T.

So, your issue is with Google and your lack of ability to verify your Google account in Google Messages, even though your phone number has been verify with Google. IMHO your issue has nothing to due with your RCS settings with your former or current carriers.

Do you use 2FA with Google? If yes, it may be necessary to temporarily suspend it long enough to verity your account on the Google Messages app.

Is the 2FA the two step verification? Yeah honestly I have no idea what's wrong or what to do lol. It's just so weird because it says my mobile number on the Google account is verified but then I der the "manage auto verifications" part for my phone number it's toggled on and says auto verification is pending and may take some time and it's been like that since last week lol.

Is the above message under your Google Account? If yes, your issue has nothing to do with Samsung products and services and, though there may be another Samsung member that could assist you, I would recommend that you contact Google directly.

Just my thoughts the Google messages shouldn't be acting up like that as long as it's updated and rcs turned on and any other settings changes you want you can submit feedback in messages think it's at the bottom but can also clear the cache in settings than apps than Google messages on storage and restart

I've done all that, it's crazy right? I've never had this issue. I actually read about the send feedback option last night, does that do anything? It says something about sending the logs? Thank you for the response!

The logs I think sends for diagnosis to Google ti check for bugs or issues as far as it being good or bad I am not sure I reported one issue sometime ago that still happens but not as much conundrum as to your issue it shouldn't be a issue at all

Thank you so much! I actually saw somewhere last night someone sent back feedback and had a similar issue fixed within 2-3 days.

Thank you again! šŸ˜Š
