Ringtones & Notification Settings

When you set a ringtone or notification for an app or contact, how do you get it out of "default" ? I am using Ringtones for Android app. This always worked before.

⁃   Settings  ≻
⁃   Notifications  ≻
⁃   Advanced Settings  ≻
⁃   Turn "Manage Notification
     Categories for Each App" On .
