How to open old Samsung Recovery files

I have an old hard disk drive with SamsungRecovery and Samsung Recovery Disk folders with user01.w01, user01.w02 (and so on files) in the SamsungRecovery folder. How do I access the data on these files? There's very little on the internet about this.

I should add I tried the Samsung Recovery program and receive a "No Backup Image Found" when I choose the Backup and Restore Management option.

I'm surprised an old Samsung hand hasn't weighed in here on this question.
