Fold & Flip Phones
Two weeks ago a black dot showed up on the screen of galaxy z flip 3. It was a size of a sesame seed at first but now it is the size of a bean. I tried to reset but the black dot is still there.
I bought this phone about 14 months ago and my warranty expired 3 weeks ago.
I called Samsung Product Support. The agent told me that if the warranty is expired, I have to pay for the repair service. So I called the Samsung repair center nearby and they told me that I need to replace an inner screen and that will be $500+ tax.
I didn't do any physical damage to the phone (no crack on the screen, no water damage, etc.), and works well. The phone was on my desk and suddenly a black dot appeared on the screen. Isn't this the manufacturer's fault? Shouldn't they build the phone to last more than 5 years? It is hard for me to understand why I should be paying for the faulty inner screen.
