Fold & Flip PhonesI use my cover screen to reply to messages all the time. In the last week, I'm not able to do this anymore. When I try to reply to messages on the cover screen, I can't see what I'm typing because the text box is blocked by the keyboard.

Fold & Flip PhonesI gave up on Google Messages, switched to Samsung Messages, and the issue went away immediately. I cleared the cache from Google messages, and it did not fix it. This issue has nothing to do with font or keyboard size, nor floating keyboard. I don't think everyone responding understands this specific issue. I cannot say why Google messages got messed up, and I assume they must know this is an issue and will fix in a forthcoming update, but switching to Samsung Messages solves it immediately.

Fold & Flip PhonesYou'll then want to delete the Google one from your home screen by holding down on it until the options pop up. Finally add Samsung Messages to home screen by finding it again in Apps, holding down on it, and selecting the "Add to Home Screen" option. It will come up with all the texts you got or sent via Google as unread. Make sure you check for any that actually did just come in, and then go to three dots on top right and Select "Mark all as read"
