Unknown Smart tag search

Would anybody be kind enough to explain how this feature works ? i have been looking around in the smartthings application on my samsung fold and i cant figure out how to initiate the search.

@Members_IY1OfJq Try this:

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Safety and emergency
  3. Click on Unknown tracker alerts. Here you can enable alerts when unknown trackers are detected. You can also click "Scan now" to force a scan.

my understanding is tat this method was meant to detect airtags ....not smarttags

from what i had read there is a way from the smartthings app as mentionned in this article

From SmartThings, select your SmartTag, then the top right three dots "Help." Find "Search for unknown tags near you," then click the tap "here" blue link within the paragraph on the following screen. Begin scanning by selecting "Start" at the bottom.

found it ...thanks...what a weird design...Samsung please correct this...i have never seen a software feature hidden in the help section...totally counterintuitive

@VerbumVeritum That is crazy. It really is

  1. open SmartThings
  2. Click on Devices
  3. Find the page with your SmartTag (swipe left/right as needed)
  4. Click the SmartTag
  5. Then follow the steps you outlined. 

I was just about to message you and see if we had wildly different versions of SmartThings.
