Got new Z Fold 6
Replacing a Z Fold 3
Used Smart Switch with USB C to move everything
It didn't move pictures in gallery and provided no error message. Already sent Z Fold 3 back to Samsung for $900 trade in. Lost all pictures after February 2024 with no recovery.
Why is their no software verification that everything moved and a time consuming manual effort

Fold & Flip PhonesI highly recommend utilizing the Google Photos app which automatically uploads your pictures when you take them (if you allow cell data usage otherwise it only does it on WiFi).
OneDrive, Samsung Cloud, and Google Drive will also backup your phone and pictures.

Fold & Flip Phones@MIkeALehman That is unfortunate. When you use Smart Switch it allows you to do all or custom. In custom, you need to ensure that your photos are selected if you want them to transfer.
I would recommend that you enable some type of backup for your photos now. That way you will ensure that future photos are not lost.
I use the built in backup to OneDrive in Gallery. When I transferred everything from my Fold 5 to 6 I did not have Smart Switch transfer any photos. I just connected my Fold 6 to OneDrive and enabled the sync in Gallery. All of my photos are available.

Fold & Flip PhonesAlso photos were backed up to only February 2024 on Google Photos but apparently stop backing up after it hit storage limits then but went unnoticed.
I incorrectly assumed that Smart Switch would move everything over and verified it did.
Obvious improvements would be for Smart Switch
1. Automatically backup everything to the cloud
2. Verification everything was moved
Manually checking things is a archaic way of doing things when software is capable of automatically doing backup and verifications
