Galaxy Buds3 pro not compatible with s22 Ultra?

I have never had any issues with my s22 Ultra when it came to software or hardware. Recently though, I purchased the Galaxy Buds3 pro. The buds were advertised to be able to run at 24 bit quality, with a sample rate of 96 khz. While I can get them to run 24 bit audio properly, I can't seem to select any other sample rate other than 48khz. I compared my galaxy buds menu on my phone to a friend's who has an s23 Ultra and found that I am missing quite a few options for my buds, some but not all include: UHQ upscale, advanced audio quality, as well as a few other features that I did not care much about. I don't k ow if this is a user error, or if Samsung actually put a generation gate forcing people to buy the new galaxy phones just to get a simple feature unlocked that I know is possible on many other Bluetooth devices that I have. If anyone can help me fix this, I would be very thankful.

The UHQ 96 khz is only available with One UI version 6.1.1. You should be receiving it soon. I would reach out to your carrier for info about when you might get it.

If I'm not mistaken, the s22 Ultra is already on 6.1.1 alongside the other newer gen samsungs.

If you're on 6.1.1, have you tried looking in the Wearable app when the Buds are connected? On the home screen, select Sound quality and effects>Advanced quality options>Ultra high quality (UHQ) audio.

That's the problem I'm having. There is no Advanced quality options for me

Hmm. What is your version number for the Wearable app? Settings>Apps>Galaxy Wearable>bottom of screen. Also, what are the last 4 letters of your Baseband version? Settings>About phone>Software information.

Thanks for that info! After some investigation, this option does appear to be missing from other S22 devices running 6.1.1 as well. I've sent this issue up to Samsung, hopefully we get some further clarification about this soon. As of now, however, it's looking like the UHQ option isn't available for S22 devices. 😢
