My phone keeps changing the word "okie" to "orientation ". How can I tell my phone to stop doing this, without turning off the autocorrect fearure?

Hello @JulesDroid, @EldurPhoenix is correct. Tapping the checkmark in the suggestion area is the option for allowing the word you typed, such as "okie". If you find that it is not retaining the word(s), try adding a Text Shortcut in the Keyboard Settings.

When I do it on my phone I type the word I want, like 'okie,' then tap the checkmark in the suggestion area. Usually that's enough for me, but others recommend deleting the word, retyping part and then selecting it from the suggestion area. Not sure if last step is necessary, though. 🤷

I've done that, but it still happens sometimes.
