I just discovered this community site, and this is my first post. I have a Note 10 and a question. How do I get the little number on the icon back that shows how many new messages I have? All the obvious settings indicate that my notifications are showing. I even asked a millennial who is familiar with Samsung phones, but they couldn't figure out why this information is gone. This is what I get when I dig too deep in the settings. I would appreciate recommendations regarding how to restore the info. Thanks.

I think I found the problem. Somewhere in my travels through the myriad settings pages, I found a Show Icon Badges setting which was off. Voila!
I really appreciate all the help and support, ya'll.

Thank you. This is a very clear instruction. I did as you said and it indicates that numbers are selected.
