Text notifications not showing up after update

My phone recently updated, now when I get a text it won't show that I have a text. Went on line googled why, did step by step to try and fix it. It didn't work. This is very frustrating.

You can also try testing the phone in Safe Mode to see if there is an app preventing the notifications: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

If the text notifications are still not coming through, try clearing the cache partition of the phone and repairing apps in recovery mode. 

To get to recovery mode: 

- Turn off phone

- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously 

- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears

- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET) 

- Use power button to select. 

- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.
