I have a Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. I downloaded a QR reader from Google and it seems to have taken over my phone. I think I deleted it. But some other stuff vanished. The time that appears on the main screen is gone. The one that includes the weather also. The app on the bottom right that you can tap and it takes you to the screens where all the apps you have ever downloaded is has vanished. And it looks like other apps are gone also! I saw something similar in a closed post that said to go to the app drawer. Where do I find that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! I went to a uBreakiFix by Asurion Store locally and the kid scrolled for a few minutes and fixed it! He said it was so easy he didn't even charge me!  BTW how would I know that there is a built-in QR reader? I didn't see anything about it in the brochure that came with the phone!

Download malwarebityes to see if you still have it as a virus try to run a Google product scan or factory reset phone and use the last back up by your samsung account

The phone has a QR scanner built in, why would you download one?. You obviously downloaded a malicious adware app. Now you need to run an antivirus scan of your phone to get rid of the remnants. You may have to reset your phone and restore your backup, but only if the phone has not backed up since this started or you will bring it back

@Rnady Sometimes apps which promise to be useful utilities are just hidden malware. As @realaud mentioned, your camera has QR reading built in. There is no need for a 3rd party app.

a) there's a quick panel icon that says QR scanner, b) just pointing your camera at a QR code will scan it.  It shouldn't need to be specifically stated, since nearly all phones and all Samsung phones have it baked in. I believe it's part of the Android system, not the UI.
