Galaxy S PhonesSo I am posting here because after research I do not see anyone with this issue and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on what to do to attempt to fix it.
What will happen is my phone will lose internet connection while connected to my Wifi. As shown in the screen shots below it has the Wifi Symbol along with an exclamation mark. When I go to the Wifi settings it states "Internet may not be available"
The only way to fix the issue is to turn the wifi off then back on. Now keep in mind that this does not happen all the time as It will happen spoardically throughout the day and there does not seem to be a specific app that causes this. This has happened while browsing the internet on multiple different browsers and it has happened while watching videos in applications such as Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, Hulu, etc.... This issue only seems to be affecting my galaxy S8 as the other devices on my network does not have this issue including my old Samsung S7 Edge.
What I have tried is the following in no particular order
- Turned the phone off/on
- Cleared browser cache
- Cleared the cache partition
- Reset my wifi connections
- Factory reset my phone
- Reset my router
- Verified my Router Firmware was up to date
- Had Verizion send me a replacement phone. Same issue happens
My Router is the Google Onhub

Galaxy S PhonesYou realy consider this as a solution?????
Do you expect me to modify every public router so it will
adhere to S8 flow?
Seriously?

Galaxy S PhonesHas this solution helped anyone else??? I don't even know how to do that... so I'm not sure how much time I want to waste trying to figure it out if it hasn't worked for anyone else...
Could you be more specific in what exact steps to take?

Galaxy S PhonesI had spent days on settings, tricks and workarounds to have a fix suggested in this forum thread. Also had contacted Samsung support numerous times. All my efforts were in vain. The last resort is to have the problematic phone exchanged with new one in retailer. After this replacement, the WiFi with an exclamation mark issue has been completely gone. The consumers definitely deserve an explanation on this matter from Samsung!!!

I don't have Whatsapp on my phone, so that's not the problem.
It's gotta be a hardware glitch within the phone.

Galaxy S PhonesI really know nothing about IP addresses and such, is there perhaps a simpler way to explain the fix for this problem?

Galaxy S PhonesGuess what people? I am hear to tell you that I have been having the same issues. I paid off my S8 Active so I could upgrade to the S9. Guess what? Same issues with the S9! Different software, a completely different phone and brand new out of the box. In 24 hours, I must have 15 screen shots of every time the phone dropped wifi signal....all the while my surface laptop stayed connected and my samsung tv stayed connected, seamlessly.
I am at a loss. Samsung tells me to send back my S8 Active for a 2nd time to repair it. They already replaced the motherboard and I am still having the same issues. It is unreal. I can't see myself with an Iphone but at this point, I am not getting what I paid for.
