Galaxy S PhonesSo I am posting here because after research I do not see anyone with this issue and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on what to do to attempt to fix it.
What will happen is my phone will lose internet connection while connected to my Wifi. As shown in the screen shots below it has the Wifi Symbol along with an exclamation mark. When I go to the Wifi settings it states "Internet may not be available"
The only way to fix the issue is to turn the wifi off then back on. Now keep in mind that this does not happen all the time as It will happen spoardically throughout the day and there does not seem to be a specific app that causes this. This has happened while browsing the internet on multiple different browsers and it has happened while watching videos in applications such as Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, Hulu, etc.... This issue only seems to be affecting my galaxy S8 as the other devices on my network does not have this issue including my old Samsung S7 Edge.
What I have tried is the following in no particular order
- Turned the phone off/on
- Cleared browser cache
- Cleared the cache partition
- Reset my wifi connections
- Factory reset my phone
- Reset my router
- Verified my Router Firmware was up to date
- Had Verizion send me a replacement phone. Same issue happens
My Router is the Google Onhub

Galaxy S PhonesI was sucked in by all the false marketing reviews all created by Samsung, and purchased two S8 phones. The wifi connectivity is horrible. I would not recommend the S8 to anyone for any reason. I'm returning both devices for full refunds.

Galaxy S PhonesI myself have called Samsung, chatted with Samsung, Netgear for my Orbi router, and Verizon. No one cares and each say its the other companies who are at fault. Can't trade my S8+ for a iphone that works with wifi because Verizon says im out of 14 day trade in window. Samsung says i have to send it in to be examined by tech support 9 to 14 days with no phone. Netgear says it is not my router its S8+ software. Still have a worthless $800+ S8+ phone that I cant use because Verizons signal is less than usable, wifi doesnt connect with s8+ and you get nowhere with same troubleshooting steps from all companies. How many times do i have to factory reset my s8+ phone and my replacement s8+ before you accept its your fault samsung. Just issue a refund for the trash phone, admit that there is no update anytime soon. And why would korea be the first for a rollout and not a mass rollout fix. Wish someone would confirm the fix from korea.

Galaxy S PhonesI feel your pain. I obtained two defective S8 devices from T-Mobile and had them for 20 days. T-Mobile informed me "it is impossible to replace the devices with another device since it was purchased under a promotion. Samsung informed me; "You must go through your carrier for a resolution". Samsung has proven their phone devices are defective, a history of same. T-Mobile finally agreed to take my devices back under "buyers remorse resulting in +-$300 out of pocket expenses. I went back to Sprint. Meanwhile, as an attorney, I am preparing to bring a Cause of Action in Federal Court under Federal Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Breach of Warranty, violation the Federal Trade Commission Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealings and the FTC's rules of defective product "Dumping" under Foreign Trade Policy, Condumer Protection. The catalysts for all of the above was the simple statement "Impossible. I intend to ask The Court to Certify The Case under US Class Action Code, and will ask the Court to subpoena records of all US purchases as well as ask the Court to expand same to the Samsung "Exploding" S7. I will demand a trial before a jury of my peers seeking such relief, including actual costs and punitive damages as determined by the Court having jurisdiction in this matter, listing defendants as Samsung and T-Mobile as T-Mobile was my carrier individually. Upon resolution it will be determined "What is Possible, rather than. "What Defendants WERE willing" to do. Stay tuned I will keep the group posted!

Galaxy S PhonesCan confirm this issue is present on both my s6 edge+ amd now my sons s8. Exact same symptoms as OP also have the ! On the wifi symbol.
can not watch any streaming content via youtube without constant buffer and video playback persists to reverting to 144p.
I have contacted my isp who ran some checks on my Huawei router but everything was fine which to be fair, i had suspected, as all other wifi connected devices have zero issue.
Im now positive this is Samsung's issue and is linked to the Nougat update. Does anyone know if samsung are aware of the issue?

Galaxy S PhonesChange the DHCP to Static in the Manage Network settings. Hold down on the WIFI network connected to, to acess the menu. This should fix the problem.

Galaxy S PhonesExact same problem as well with my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950U1). All other devices in my home (cell phones, laptops, TVs, tablets) do not have this connection problem. Only my new, fully updated Galaxy S8. Switching between networks, or airplane mode on off is the fix I use.
Wifi connection stability is not rocket science, amazing that Samsung cannot get it working properly on their flagship device.
