So, I have a bought a Samsung Galaxy S10, and the first 30 minutes, it's overheating. The back and the sides are hot. Why is this happening?

I am having the same problem. Sometimes after only a brief phone call the sides of my phone are burning hot! I just got this phone and am worried it is going to melt! I also have Sprint and a Galaxy S10 Plus.

Same problem. Talked to support for over an hour.

There really not concerned. It is the auto sence feature. No way to disable.

I have to turn off the phone when it is with me, when I need to make a call turn it on.

They need to fix there software.

My S10+ has recently started overheating.  Phone is registered with Sprint (lousy service,  Phone shows LTE but browser says "no internet connection") But at any rate, the main area of heat is around the "bixby button" on both sides of the screen.  It gets hot when on phone calls, and I mean, so hot I had to get off the phone call due to it burning my ear.  "Device Optimizer" doesnt show any issues.  Said 97% optimized at the time of the most recent overheat issue.

Typically I just power the phone off to allow it to cool down.

I'm actually quite nervous to talk on the phone sometimes due to fear the phone will explode while I'm holding it.

Purchased from local BESTBUY in Atlanta, Ga.

Tempted to get a laser thermometer and start data logging the temps on it.  There is no reason a phone should heat up 120 degrees F.  I mean NUCLEAR hot! INSANE!!

Anyone else have similar issues?

Same problem on Note 9 I just got 4 weeks ago. Over last 7-10 days it started to get very hot. Stopped yesterday, turned out it was over processing to prepare for the lastest OS updates. I took several downloads and restarts over most of the day. So far not getting hot anymore.

Hope this helps.

My 10e is also overheating after doing a update. Both on or off the charger. no apps running. Tried rebooting. Optimize battery did not help.  Back and sides are overbearing. Hot to touch. What to do?  Scott

Keep a close eye on it - my S10+ got quite warm before it decided to power off and never power on again. Currently awaiting a replacement for a dead device.
