Hey there!

I definitely understand how frustrating this can be to not receive any notifications and experiencing issues with your microphone after an update.

First, let's wipe the system cache partition on your device. The system cache partition stores temporary system data. It's supposed to allow the system to access apps more quickly and efficiently, but sometimes things get cluttered and outdated, so a periodic cache clearing can help make the system run more smoothly. Performing this steps is completely safe and will not delete any data from your phone.

Follow these steps:

1. At first, press Volume Down and Power button for a couple of seconds to turn off your phone.
2. Now hold down Volume Up and Power key until the SAMSUNG Galaxy logo shows up.
3. After that use Volume keys to select Wipe cache partition and click the Power button.
4. Then go to Yes option.
5. At last, you should choose Reboot system now with the Power key.

Also, it's always good to make sure all of your apps on your device are up-to-date as well after a software update. Sometimes, apps are not updated right away to work properly on a new update.

Next, with microphone issues, there can be many factors that can result to this.

1. Double check to see if the case on your device could be blocking the microphone area.

2. make sure there is no dust or debris that could have gotten in the microphone.

3. make sure there has not been any physical or liquid damage done to the microphone.

I will be providing you a troubleshooting guide that I believe will help you with this issue. I encourage you to try all steps available in this link before taking any other steps.
