Is the LED Notification light missing from the S10 phone, if it is is there a workaround to get it, or will there be an update and they will add it?

Also if it is, I am very disappointed and considering not getting the new phone.

Personally i dont mind the edge lighting notification but would just like it to stay on till I have accessed the message 🙂

Edge lighting, if it stayed on, might be better than nothing, but I think even that would be too much most of the time.

This thread should not even be open anyone more, it's not going to change things. Samsung has made up their mind, end of story. If you hit them where it counts and stop buying their products you would see a change. But until then, forget it.

I got the aodNotify app by Jawomo from the Google play store the other day. I did this at the recommendation of another user earlier in this thread. I played around with the free version for a few days, and found that it did some things very well. Mainly, you can set a color of ring to appear around the screen camera that is in the upper rh corner and have it stay on for up to 12 hours until you go in and read the notification to clear it. For me, this is mostly so i can know if I received a text, as most other things can wait until whenever.

I decided to spend the US$ 2.99 on the "pro" version, because it offers a lot more settings. Namely, you can select various events, such as charging, or fully charged, etc., and assign a different color to each thing. There are other settings only available in the pro version that I have not explored yet.

Anyway, this app has basically corrected the only thing about the phone that I was unhappy about.

I just purchased the Galaxy S10. It never occurred to me that a cell phone manufacturer would sell a phone without a notification light. I highly rely on this feature.  Phone cases cover the edge lighting which doesn't seem helpful anyway since it is so light. Has anyone found an app that doesn't require full access to your phone, contacts, etc.?  I tried AOD Notify, but it did not work with the Messenges and Calendar apps I use.

I am trying Always On Edge but it is nowhere near OK for the functions that you seem to need like I do.
I rely completely on the LED notification light to manage a huge amount of notifications each day while sitting in meetings.
SAMSUNG made the worst decision to change what what working perfectly well on S8+!

I am going to continue to send messages to SAMSUNG to get this resolved.
You spend so much money on a phone like this and you get shortchanged with a change they feel is OK but do not consider what the end user needs!

Had a S8+ and upgraded to S10+ only to find out there is no LED light notification!
Why?
Why change something which is an important function to how you can deal with your work notifications while you are in meetings etc!
I think it is unacceptable that SAMSUNG have not resolved this and put out an upgrade to fix the LED Light notification issue.

If I've said it once I've said it a throusand times. SAMSUNG DOES NOT CARE WHAT YOU WANT!!!!

They are not going to change it! I dumped the phone and my my 4 Samsung TV's and my Tablets. I have one S10e, sitting on my closet I've yet to get rid of. No one will touch it because of the missing notifiction light. I replaced the  4 TV's with TCL (better picture bonus), 2 iPhones, and two iPad Pros. Life is better after Samsung. No more constant updates etc on the phone. It just got to be to much. They can't get their act together and listen to the customers so tuff noggies. Get rid of them. Good luck. If you hit them in the pocket book, that's when they'll listen.
