So I work for a cellular phone company and alot of people have been coming in with this issue. I have found that a large majority of the time it is an EMOJI app that has been added. The most common one is called IN launcher -love emojis & gif's, themes. See if you have any apps that might have caused the issue. Since Android allows any apps to be in their play store these apps are reakking havoc on phones.
Have tried everything with my S9 and nothing works. I bsically miss all texts because of this. Even when phone is in hand and being used I get nothing telling me when a text comes in.
