Text messages failing to send

Many times I am unable to reply to texts and receive a failure message. I have looked through the settings and can find no problem that could cause this. Can anyone make a suggestion to correct this? Thanks

If this doesn't help at all, the next step would be to contact your carrier for assistance as they are the responsible party for the service of sending and receiving texts.
