Hello everyone,

First time poster to the forums as I am unable to locate any help with the issue I am facing. As of this morning 7:00am PST my phone updated to Android 11 and it said the update was successful. I haven't gone through all the options available as of yet.

However, when swiping down on the screen to check my notifications, if I tap on any one app whether it be a mobile game, social media, news or whatever, I'm immediately taken back to the lock screen of my phone. The selected app never opens and the notifications remain. Has anyone else been encountering this issue?

I've restarted the device a few times and disconnected from WiFi to see if there is any change. I don't necessarily want to reset the phone so I'm curious to know if there are any other steps that can be provided before I start the path of having to reset my phone.

Thanks!

I have the same issue.

I hate the rows of 3 and feel we should have an option to stay at 4 apps across in folders.

Samsung please fix ASAP thanks šŸ‘

I really love all the extra space between my icons!  This makes it much easier to select an app with my 11th finger.  I also love having to go to a second page to find an app that used to be visible on the only page.  It's almost as if I originally created these groups to not be multipaged with the intention of making my user experience more efficient.  Oh, this is sarcasm..in case you're the brilliant Samsung UI product manager that thought this was a change that just had to be part of this release.

There's lots of other little things that have changed. Which is to be expected in a major OS upgrade. Other things like slight font changes or the movement of the volume rocker display I can get used to. Changing the layout of apps on the screen and number of apps that fit in a folder, this entire thread, should be able to be edited back to  user preference. This is my second Samsung phone and I used Samsung smart switch to set up my new one to be look just like my old one. They were not on the same Android OS version. I understand things change but this just seems like a change without a reason and not being able to edit the number of apps in a column or row, doesn't make sense. You can change the layout of your home screen but not in the folders. All of my folders came over with the port to the new phone now they're gone. Seems like it should be an easy fix, but maybe not as someone pointed out earlier this happened on an earlier version and was never fixed.

Samsung please fix this problem. Changing three apps  in a row inside a folder is not required nor welcomed, please change it back.

Literally the dumbest update ever. It's like someone taking 1 battery out of the remote controller. Who actually thought this was a great idea?

Yeah I'm extremely annoyed about this as well it's really messed up how my apps are organized. Such a needless change, at least give us the option to change this!!
