First time poster to the forums as I am unable to locate any help with the issue I am facing. As of this morning 7:00am PST my phone updated to Android 11 and it said the update was successful. I haven't gone through all the options available as of yet.
However, when swiping down on the screen to check my notifications, if I tap on any one app whether it be a mobile game, social media, news or whatever, I'm immediately taken back to the lock screen of my phone. The selected app never opens and the notifications remain. Has anyone else been encountering this issue?
I've restarted the device a few times and disconnected from WiFi to see if there is any change. I don't necessarily want to reset the phone so I'm curious to know if there are any other steps that can be provided before I start the path of having to reset my phone.
This has annoyed me a lot more than it should have but if I wanted 3 columns I would've had 3 columns!!! I don't like it at all Samsung, give me my choices back!!
I don't like that they changed it without the option of changing the column with back. But I'm guessing with all these complaints and no official response, it's not going to change and I should just reorganize myself. Sadly that's my next step. Unless you want to step in Samsung...
What was the point in this change? Why would a developer want to throw off an end users setup? This needs to be optionalor changed back as soon as possible.
I too, have logged in for the fitst time just to share my frustration on this issue. It blows when you open a folder and not see an app you know is there, then go to app drawer to put it back. Only to find out there is a second page in the folder with (now) multiple copies of the same app. I catagorize my apps in folders so I don't have to flip pages (I only have 1 homescreen page). Now you can only have a max of 12 apps before it makes another dreaded page. Gotta love how (in a folder) a screen the size of my note 20 ultra can only display 12 apps (3x4)!
Imagine samsung doing something so annoying just to get new users to create accounts on their community to complain.
Same issue and I agree majority of my screens have folders and some folders have 15 or more apps so now it's bigger and the 4x6 layout is for the home screens and how apps look not how apps look in folders and to other people above asking why would they change it without taking in consideration customers my answer to that is because who is developing the updates they are making the updates to how they would want the new android to be not doing it to please customers and its messed up.... I can't find any setting to fix the in folder apps layouts so far still trying to find a solution
