Ah I see. So sorry to hear. 😭 I recommend contacting the carrier and explaining your situation. If your mother owned the device, you should be able to get the phone deblacklisted. You may need to provide a death certificate.

Why was your phone blacklisted? Generally, only Samsung or the respective carrier will be able to assist you.

The account was in my mother's name and she passed due to covid and the cellular company black listed all phones that were on the account

Hmm. Try speaking with a supervisor. You should be able to get it cleared up rather easily. Only the carrier will be able to resolve this.

There was money still owed on that phone which I was paying for consistently just in my mother's account due to my work schedule at that time

When my late Wife passed away I took the phone to Sprint (when it was still here) and I was able to pay what was owed and got the phone cleared so I was able to get it to someone else to use. Whoever the carrier is taken it there with a death certificate and talk to a manager or supervisor and explain the situation and they should be able to fix the problem. So saddened by your loss..
