New Calendar: Unable to see events at a glance or colors

Is there a way to make my calender like it was before this last update? Right now all my events for the day are black and I have to click on each day to see what I have scheduled? It was so much better where it showed I had multiple events for one day.

your best option at the moment is to pull down on the calendar in monthly view to expand it.
