Hello all. Ever since the latest update (December 2023) I have to close a running app in order to access my Home screen. For example, before this update if I had an internet browser open, if I wanted to open my email app without closing the internet browser I would tap the 3 verticle bars (is this the multi-window icon?), and tap outside the internet browser window to access my home screen so that I could then open the email app. When I tap outside the internet browser now, it just maximizes the internet browser window again. So I have to close the internet browser to open my email app. I checked Settings and searched the internet for a solution but no luck. I hope someone can help!

@RShaw I found that new action a little cumbersome also. BTW, that icon you are clicking is called Recents. It shows the apps that are currently running.

The solution for you is to not click the Recents icon when you want to jump from the Internet to your email. Instead click the Home icon in the bottom middle. Now open the email app. Now both Internet and Email are open. You can easily jump between them by clicking the Recents icon.

That is the recent apps button. You need to gently drag a recent app in order to make it show others. When it shows the one you want, then tap it. To remove one from the recent apps, swipe up.

The navigation bar's home button looks like □ .

The navigation bar's back button looks like < .

By the way, I don't know which device you are using. A tablet would show several recent apps on one screen.

Thanks for the help ElecricEyeND. My device is an S21. I intended to post in the S21 so I left that detail out of the body of my message.

I'm sorry I did not explicitly state that the home button is your solution.
