I'm having the same issue. The Samsung tech support guy couldn't figure it out so he said he needed to escalate the issue. Only started after running an update this morning. Frustrating...
Sounds like a carrier issue. Something in the transmission must be garbling them. You would have to contact your carrier. The message apps are only send/receive mechanisms, transmission is the domain of the carrier.
