Galaxy S22What was this stealth update that I cannot find any info on, one that rebooted my S22 (and everyone's S22, S23 & S24 that was updated)? It updated many Samsung apps, yet there is zero public info about what this reboot-inducing update was for.
Only updates to a phone's OS (Android) , or the launcher/UI (Samsung 'One UI') force a device reboot - so this was a significant update; but again, one with zero notes made public about the update.
Sketchy!
The updated even broke one of the many One UI apps it updated, Weather (but this has since been fixed)*. That glitch from the system update seemingly affected many (maybe all?) users of the Weather app* that received the overnight update (until they found an apparent server side fix for it, as no action was needed on the phones to fix the app).
This, irrefutably, was a major update tha5 was pushed-put overnight. Again, my Samsung S22 restarted overnight; as when I went to use it this morning, the option to use Biometric logins were disabled because of this. Alsovarious One UI apps show new version numbers (see example image)withoutal being updated from the auto-updates on the stores; and this update broke the weather app for a while this morning.
*Everyone was posting about the glitch in the Weather app/widget this AM: where the temperature was displaying about 60Ā° F higher than actual - "Weather" was one of the multiple Samsung apps updated overnight and showing new version number - updated without downloading from the Samsung or Google Play stores (thus it was an apk bundled with an unannounced system update)
What was this systsm update? We have a right to know
Unfortunately I had no advanced notification-logging enabled that possibly might have been able to document what happened, and Samsung's app Nice Catch doesn't show diddly..
From what I am seeing in the various one UI components and the phone's overall Behavior -this update was not a minor one.
Can anyone shed light on to what Samsung updated last night either late on 11/18/24 or in the very early hours of 11/19?
Attached is an example of the updated One UI Weather App version that updated overnight without accessing the app store like it would if it wasn't updated from asystem-level patch.

I'm not sure what weather app you are posting the version number of above. I know my Fold 6 had the weather temperature issue and it's weather app is a much different version. Checked on my S23 Ultra and it has a similar version number.
I know that an S24 Ultra and my Fold 6 showed the temperature issue. Neither them nor my S23 Ultra had an update over night which rebooted them.
The temperature glitch may have been at the server and not something wrong on the devices.

You probably just have automatic restart enabled under automatic optimization. There was an update released this morning, but it's a just a security update and it is currently korea only s24 devices. My current phone (flip6) also had the weather bug without any evidence of a reboot last night, and it went away with a refresh. Theres probably a bug deep within the weather services outside of samsungs control as the other day weather.com was showing over 120f in the las vegas valley for the monthly forecast.

Whatever app you are showing there, it's definitely not the Samsung weather app. I have not received any update on my U.S S22 Ultra since mid October.
As I mentioned in your other post, why not go to the software update page in your settings and look at the last update installed? It will show the date, version, and changelog of the last update your device received
