About one month ago, every other or every third or fourth phone call, the recipient cannot hear me until I hang up and call them back. Then I have absolutely no problems.

This also behaves the same when I'm using bluetooth. That's why I know it's not the microphone but it's software.

I never have the problem with WhatsApp voice calling, just phone calling.

I often use Google voice as well, and the same issue prevails for regular phone calls.

I cannot figure this out. Please assist.

Hello there! I can certainly understand the importance of needing your microphone to work on a phone call! If you are only having this issue on the phone app itself and not WhatsApp I would suggest clearing the cache of the phone app, and the Google voices app as well.

you can do this by Open Settings, and then swipe to and tap Apps. Select or search for the app you want to clear. Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.

I would also suggest trying a factory data reset of the device in case it does have anything to do with the software. First, backup your information and then you can go into the Settings > Backup and reset.
Tap on Factory data reset.
Tap on Reset Device.
Enter in your lock screen credentials and then tap on Continue.
Confirm you understand that all data will be erased by tapping on Erase Everything.

If you've tried these steps, and you're still having the same issue you can have a certified technician take a look.

You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864. For service outside the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html

I hope this helps!

The exact same thing happens for my calls irregardless of whether I call, receive a call or use Bluetooth in my car. And it started a couple of months ago too.

Also, on many calls I can hear the person but just barely so I have to put them on speaker in order to hear them.
