Messages takes 2 minutes to open after taking the 6.1 update

My s22 ultra won't open messages to read or reply for up to 2 minutes after I select the message. I can see the bubble and see a lot of the Message before selecting it to reply but the screen is blank for 2 or 3 minutes if it comes on at all. Deeply frustrating and hard to text anyone on.

Try this, go to settings, apps, in the search box type in the messaging app you are using, open it, scroll to storage, clear cache. That should solve the problem.

Thanks for the reply. i think I just fixed it by turning off the rcs chat settings. Fingers are crossed, so far no problems
