Hello, I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be getting a new device and it not working as it was designed to. Let's see if we can get this resolved for you.

I have found an article with troubleshooting steps that may help with your concern on your text notifications not making sounds. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001588/

Also, If you started using the Bubbles notifications feature on your device, you may have accidentally set some contacts or conversations as exceptions in the Messenger app. To fix this, you can make sure Bubbles notifications are turned on and then check the settings in the Messenger app. This way, all of your text notifications will appear. Check out this link to learn more about this:https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062636/

If you're still having the same issue with the device, I would suggest having a certified service technician take a look.

You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864. For service outside of the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html  I do apologize for any inconvenience.

Check the notification settings for each of those apps.

I have the same problem. Customer support won't listen when you say "all the settings are set to make an audible sound and still have no sound". Call make a sound and notifications will as long as you have music or videos playing. But not if no other sound is playing.
